It’s a Post Apocolyptic Bazaar!

So, in an unfortunate accident… I blew up my website.

Turns out, playing around with iWeb when you have all the ftp information typed in will actually effect the actual server. I was playing around with the program to see how much use I could get out of it (after my version of Coda went the wayside), and I discovered it’s just not my taste. So, in attempting to delete the new website from the list, I ended up deleting my actual website.

Who knew?

Now I’m trying to put the pieces back together. I’m just thankful that it didn’t touch the MySQL databases.

WordPress and Me

Yes–I broke down and downloaded the WordPress software to install onto my site. I was getting pretty tired of the level of maintainance I had to go through to keep my blog nice and neat. Using Blogger as a publishing service was okay for a time, but they really began to loose me when they shifted toward the FTP-unfriendly beasts they’ve become.

I have no particular complaints about Blogger (other than the FTP thing); I still use it for Pbshhht. I’m just looking for something a little more customizable without all the hooplah. Thank you, WordPress.

Now I have to fetch my entire archive and find a way to mass import them.

Holy Mckenzie!

Holy crap, it’s been a while. Not. My. Fault.
I blame Blogger and my hosting service.

If one is working, 9/10 that the other wouldn’t… So it’s really hit or miss these days whether or not I can post at all.

Blogger has recently been converting themselves to another platform, migrating all the old customers to the new platform. Being an old customer, I’ve been migrated and as it turns out the new platform isn’t ready for me.

FTP is still an issue for Blogger, spitting errors upon errors at me every time I try to post. My host… well, only God knows what’s up with them.

I’ve been working hard though, to get things on my end working (i.e. v5.3) and I’ve lived up to that expectation. There are now perminant lable links on the right for easier navigation through the archives.

Next up will have to be the extras section at the bottom right.
